# How do Developers contribute to the Sprint planning process?

During [Sprint Planning](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/sprint-planning/), Developers play a crucial role by forecasting the work to be selected for the Sprint. This involves estimating and sizing items in the [Product Backlog](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/a-scrum-artifact-that-consists-of-an-ordered-list-of-the-work-to-be-done-in-order-to-create-maintain-and-sustain-a-product-managed-by-the-product-owner/) to determine what can realistically be accomplished within the Sprint. Accurate forecasting is essential to setting achievable goals and ensuring the team can deliver a usable [Increment](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/increment/) by the end of the Sprint.

Developers also create the [Sprint Backlog](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/sprint-backlog/), which is a detailed plan outlining the tasks and activities needed to meet the [Sprint Goal](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/sprint-goal/). This plan is not static; it is adapted daily to reflect any changes or new information that arises, ensuring the team remains on track to achieve their objectives.
