# What are the three accountabilities in a Scrum Team?

In a [Scrum Team](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/scrum-team/), there are three key accountabilities: the [Product Owner](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/product-owner/), the [Scrum Master](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/scrum-master/), and the Developers. Each role has specific responsibilities that contribute to the team's overall success.

The [Product Owner](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/product-owner/) is responsible for maximising the [Value](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/value/) of the product by managing the [Product Backlog](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/a-scrum-artifact-that-consists-of-an-ordered-list-of-the-work-to-be-done-in-order-to-create-maintain-and-sustain-a-product-managed-by-the-product-owner/) and ensuring it reflects the stakeholders' needs and priorities. The [Scrum Master](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/scrum-master/) facilitates the Scrum process, helping the team adhere to Scrum principles and practices while removing impediments. The Developers are responsible for delivering a potentially releasable [Increment](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/increment/) of the product at the end of each Sprint, ensuring the work meets the [Definition of Done](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/definition-of-done/).
