# What events occur at the beginning and end of a Sprint?

A Sprint begins with a [Sprint Planning](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/sprint-planning/) event, where the team defines what can be delivered in the upcoming Sprint and how that work will be achieved. At the end of the Sprint, the [Sprint Review](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/sprint-review/) and [Sprint Retrospective](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/sprint-retrospective/) events take place.

During the [Sprint Review](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/sprint-review/), the team presents the work completed and discusses the next steps with stakeholders. The [Sprint Retrospective](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/sprint-retrospective/) allows the team to reflect on their process and identify improvements for future Sprints.
