# What happens if the Definition of Done is part of the organisation’s standards?

If the [Definition of Done](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/definition-of-done/) is part of the organisation’s standards, all Scrum Teams within that organisation must follow it as a minimum requirement. This ensures consistency across teams and projects, providing a standardised measure of quality and completeness.

However, if the [Definition of Done](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/definition-of-done/) is not an organisational standard, then it is up to the individual [Scrum Team](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/scrum-team/) to create an appropriate DoD for their specific product. This flexibility allows teams to tailor the [Definition of Done](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/definition-of-done/) to their unique needs and circumstances, ensuring it is relevant and practical for their work.
