# Where can the Product Goal be found within the Scrum framework?

The [Product Goal](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/product-goal/) is located in the [Product Backlog](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/a-scrum-artifact-that-consists-of-an-ordered-list-of-the-work-to-be-done-in-order-to-create-maintain-and-sustain-a-product-managed-by-the-product-owner/). It serves as a guiding star for the rest of the backlog items, which emerge to define what will fulfil the [Product Goal](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/product-goal/). This hierarchical structure ensures that all tasks and features in the backlog are directly contributing to achieving the overarching goal.

Having the [Product Goal](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/product-goal/) in the [Product Backlog](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/a-scrum-artifact-that-consists-of-an-ordered-list-of-the-work-to-be-done-in-order-to-create-maintain-and-sustain-a-product-managed-by-the-product-owner/) provides transparency and clarity to the [Scrum Team](https://www.thescrummaster.co.uk/glossary/scrum-team/) and stakeholders. It ensures that everyone involved understands the primary objective and how individual backlog items support it.
