Scrum.org has announced the addition of a new, advanced Scrum Master course, Professional Scrum Master II (PSM II). PSM II is a 2-day course intended for Scrum Masters with at least one year of experience.
The course is intended to help Scrum Masters to continuously improve by building experience, knowledge and capabilities, as they help their teams and organizations succeed.
“Taking on the role of the Scrum Master is a challenging one,” said Ken Schwaber, Scrum co-creator and Scrum.org Founder. “We have spent years training people to become better Scrum Masters, and now it’s time to take what we’ve learned to help them continue improving. We are always inspecting and adapting with Scrum, and Scrum Masters do the same, gaining new techniques, insights and ideas. There is always room to grow as both individuals and Scrum Masters, and it is part of our mission to help them do so successfully.”
Unlike the Scrum.org Professional Scrum Master (PSM) course which focuses on how to use Scrum, the Scrum framework and the role of the Scrum Master, PSM II is an advanced course to help students improve their Scrum Master skills to support their Scrum Teams.
“To ensure that our students will derive the most value, we have been teaching the course in select locations over the past several months to obtain feedback and improve it,” said Dave West, CEO, Scrum.org. “We now feel confident that the PSM II course is ready to go live to the public and I am excited to help Scrum Masters continue to improve how they support their teams on our mission to improve the profession.”
If you would like to attend a Scrum.org Professional Scrum Master II course you can see upcoming dates and locations from TheScrumMaster.co.uk here. More will be added soon.
The Scrum Master is Simon Kneafsey. Simon is a Professional Scrum Trainer with Scrum.org, the home of Scrum run by Scrum co-creator, Ken Schwaber. Simon offers Professional Scrum Certification training courses globally and works with clients to introduce Scrum to their organisations.
