Case Study – ZS

ZS & TheScrumMaster.co.uk

ZS is a global professional services firm that works with companies around the world and across the marketplace, in industries ranging from healthcare to high-tech to financial services and beyond. They help clients with everything from discovery through to commercialisation, with the strategy, analytics and technology to enable it.

A significant trend from 2018 onwards was the desire of large Pharmaceutical companies to become more Agile. The world is becoming an ever more complex place. Change is affecting industries that remained relatively static for much of their history. Technology is changing, customer demand is changing. Unexpected and volatile events are becoming the norm. The very nature of societies and economies are shifting before our eyes. The level of change and uncertainty around us at an unprecedented level. Predicting what will happen next is impossible.

Organisations have to adapt to this changing landscape in order to survive. As a result, they are recognising the need to work in a more agile way that allows them to keep maximum options open and adapt and change direction when needed with the lowest possible risk.

ZS wanted to support their clients in this transition and so wanted to better understand concepts around Scrum & Agile. TheScrumMaster.co.uk delivered a range of private Scrum training for ZS to support this initiative. Our expertise with Pharmaceutical and Medical companies meant we were ideally positioned to support them.

I attended a training led by Simon on Agile. Simon has been instrumental in explaining the basics of Agile and Scrum methodology and its applicability on real use cases. Thanks to his ability I was quickly able to pass the PSM certification right away Recommended.

I attended a training on Scrum Master facilitated by Simon. Simon has good command over Scrum concepts and brought several examples from his experience working with different clients in various capacities. These examples helped me to tie how do we apply the concepts in a real-life project situations. Our attendee group had attendees with various background – some with no prior experience with Scrum while some had a good knowledge of Scrum. Simon kept the group highly engaged by sharing interesting stories, facilitating engaging discussions on challenging project situations and imparting good theoretical concepts. I had key takeaways which I can apply in our day-to-day job.
