Ultimate Product Owner is an interactive, activity-based course that helps participants understand how effective Product Ownership contributes to the success of a product.
Through a combination of discussion, practical exercises and team-based activities, participants explore how to connect business strategy with product delivery, maximise value and apply an Agile product management mindset.
The course includes an attempt at TheScrumMaster.co.uk’s Ultimate Scrum I (US I) assessment. Participants who successfully pass the assessment earn the Ultimate Scrum I certification.
Course Overview
During this two-day course*, participants develop a strong understanding of Scrum and the accountability of the Product Owner. They explore how Product Ownership extends well beyond managing the Product Backlog or writing User Stories and how the Product Owner connects business strategy, customer needs and the work of the Scrum Team.
The course helps participants move from a project mindset towards a product mindset. Rather than focusing primarily on delivering predefined scope, participants learn to establish clear goals, test assumptions, gather evidence and adapt their approach to improve outcomes and maximise value.
Participants practise techniques for developing and communicating product vision, setting Product Goals, managing the Product Backlog and making effective decisions about value. They also explore how to collaborate with users, customers, stakeholders, Developers and Scrum Masters while maintaining clear Product Owner accountability.
Our experienced trainers use practical examples, team-based exercises and realistic product challenges throughout the course. Participants leave with techniques they can apply immediately to improve organisational learning, align people around shared goals and support successful product delivery.
* When delivered in person, this course is generally run over two consecutive days. Live Virtual courses may be delivered across a greater number of shorter sessions.
