Ultimate Agile Leadership is an interactive, activity-based course that helps managers and leaders understand how to create the conditions in which agile teams can thrive.
Through a combination of discussion, practical exercises and team-based activities, participants explore how leadership, management practices, organisational culture and ways of measuring success influence agility.
The course includes an attempt at TheScrumMaster.co.uk’s Ultimate Agile Master I (UAM I) assessment. Participants who successfully pass the assessment earn the Ultimate Agile Master I certification.
Course Overview
During this two-day course*, participants develop a deeper understanding of the role leaders and managers play in enabling organisational agility. They explore how leadership approaches, organisational structures and management practices can either support or restrict the ability of teams to respond effectively to change.
Agile teams cannot create lasting organisational change on their own. Leaders must help align goals, remove systemic impediments and create an environment that supports experimentation, collaboration, learning and self-management. Participants examine the changes in thinking and behaviour required when moving from traditional management approaches towards more agile ways of working.
The course explores how leaders can form and support effective teams, clarify outcomes, foster accountability and help people develop their capability. Participants consider how to balance direction with autonomy and how to support self-managing teams without reverting to command-and-control management.
Our experienced trainers combine practical exercises, discussion and realistic organisational scenarios. Participants leave with techniques for assessing agility, supporting cultural and behavioural change, measuring meaningful outcomes and improving the environment in which teams work.
* When delivered in person, this course is generally run over two consecutive days. Live Virtual courses may be delivered across a greater number of shorter sessions.
