Ultimate Product Owner Advanced (TheScrumMaster.co.uk)

Ultimate Product Owner Advanced

Ultimate Product Owner Advanced is an interactive, activity-based course that helps experienced Product Owners and Product Managers increase their ability to establish direction, validate assumptions and maximise the value created by their products.

Through a combination of discussion, realistic case studies and team-based exercises, participants explore the different stances, skills and behaviours needed to respond effectively to complex product challenges.

The course includes an attempt at TheScrumMaster.co.uk’s Ultimate Scrum II (US II) assessment. Participants who successfully pass the assessment earn the Ultimate Scrum II certification.

Course Overview

During this two-day advanced course*, participants explore what it means to create and deliver value and how that value can be understood and communicated inside and outside their organisation. The course goes beyond the foundations of Scrum and Product Ownership to develop the product leadership skills required in complex environments.

Participants examine the different stances an effective Product Owner may adopt. They learn how to act as a customer representative who understands customer problems and desired outcomes, a visionary who provides direction, and an experimenter who uses hypotheses, evidence and validation to reduce uncertainty.

The course also explores the Product Owner as a decision maker, collaborator and influencer. Participants consider how to navigate conflicting feedback, make difficult product decisions, collaborate with the Scrum Team and work effectively with stakeholders across areas such as finance, budgeting, contracts and governance.

Our experienced trainers use case studies, practical exercises and realistic product scenarios throughout the course. Participants leave with a broader range of techniques for shaping product strategy, managing stakeholders, validating value and adapting their approach to suit the needs of their product and organisation.

* When delivered in person, this course is generally run over two consecutive days. Live Virtual courses may be delivered across a greater number of shorter sessions.
