Ultimate Scrum Master Advanced (TheScrumMaster.co.uk)

Ultimate Scrum Master Advanced

Ultimate Scrum Master Advanced is an interactive, activity-based course designed to help experienced Scrum Masters continue their professional development and increase their effectiveness.

Through discussion, practical exercises and team-based activities, participants explore the different stances, skills and behaviours an effective Scrum Master uses when supporting Scrum Teams, Product Owners and the wider organisation.

The course includes an attempt at TheScrumMaster.co.uk’s Ultimate Scrum II (US II) assessment. Participants who successfully pass the assessment earn the Ultimate Scrum II certification.

Course Overview

During this two-day advanced course*, participants examine the challenges experienced Scrum Masters face when helping teams and organisations make effective use of Scrum. Unlike the Ultimate Scrum Master course, which establishes a strong understanding of Scrum and the Scrum Master accountability, this course focuses on developing the judgement, skills and behaviours required to respond effectively to more complex situations.

Participants explore how Scrum theory, principles and values guide the decisions made by a Scrum Master. They consider how an effective Scrum Master adapts their approach according to the needs of the situation, acting as a teacher, coach, mentor, facilitator and change agent without taking responsibility away from the people they support.

The course examines how Scrum Masters can help Developers, Product Owners and other stakeholders become more effective. Participants practise techniques for facilitating conversations, addressing conflict, removing impediments, supporting self-management and creating an environment in which empiricism and agility can thrive.

Our experienced trainers bring practical examples, stories and challenges into the classroom. Participants have opportunities to examine situations from their own organisations, learn from the experiences of others and consider how they can increase their credibility and influence as Scrum Masters.

* When delivered in person, this course is generally run over two consecutive days. Live Virtual courses may be delivered across a greater number of shorter sessions.
