Happy 21st Birthday To Scrum

Scrum turned 21 years old on 19th October 2016. Happy birthday Scrum! You can now legally have a beer in the USA.

Scrum was officially announced at the OPPSLA 1995 conference in Austin, Texas.

Much has changed since then, including the name. It was originally called SCRUM, but it has been Scrum for a very long time now. Despite the changes, the underlying approach of Empiricism through inspection, adaptation and transparency remain the same.

What seemed like a revolutionary idea back then is now accepted in the main stream. Indeed many believe that Scrum and Agile ways of working will go onto become the “normal” way of doing things for many organisations. What do you think? Let me know in via the comments below.
