On 26th July 2016, Scrum.org relaunched the Professional Scrum Master II (PSM II) assessment and certification. It was previously known as the Professional Scrum Practitioner (PSP) assessment and certification. It has now been renamed and officially launched by Scrum.org. What was previously called PSM II is now known as PSM III. You can find out more about the changes here.
PSM II is an advanced level assessment aimed at demonstrating that you know Scrum theory and how to apply it in the real world.
PSM II was created based on the feedback received around the original Professional Scrum Master II (PSM II), now called PSM III assessment which was considered by many to be VERY difficult, and an expert rather than advanced level assessment.
The new PSM II assessment is therefore positioned between PSM I and PSM III in terms of difficulty and is a more achievable certification for those that have attended a Professional Scrum Master course and/or have sufficient real world experience.
The PSM II assessment is structured in a similar way to PSM I. It is comprised of 30 multiple choice questions. You have 90 minutes to complete the assessment and must score 85%+ to achieve the certification. As with all Scrum.org assessments, it is challenging and designed to test your real understanding of Scrum.
In order to improve as Software Development Professionals we should all seek to undertake continual learning. The PSM II assessment is an excellent way to validate your continued learning about Scrum. Let me know what you think in the comments section below or drop me an email if you prefer a 1 to 1 conversation.
If you want some tips to help you prepare for it, read my post on how to pass the Professional Scrum Master II assessment.
** Please note that there is no discount code available for the PSM II assessment. There was a short term introductory offer in 2016 but this no longer applies

Hello there,
though I did not take a class with you, I would kindly like to know if you could provide me with the discount code as well. Just as a favour of course and only if you are allowed to do so.
Kind regards,
Robert
Hi Robert,
The offer has now expired so I can’t supply any further discount codes.
Apologies.

Hi Simon,
I wanted to say thank you for the discount code. I was able to pass the exam last night with a score of 93.3% and get my PSP certificate. As stated by others it was a very tricky exam, and required some thought on each question.
Thank you again!
Great news Jade. Well done!

Hi Admin,
I have passed PSM 1 with 95% score and almost completed preparation for PSPO 1.
Now, suddenly while going through blogs for last minute suggestion, i have found about PSP exam.
Could you please suggest, how much PSPO 1 and PSP differs in terms of course material.
Thanks,
Shuvradeep
Hi Shuvradeep,
There is some overlap, but quite a lot of difference and PSP is intended to be a level above (harder) than PSPO I.
You can learn more about PSP here:

I have emailed you the discount code for PSP if you choose to go ahead with it. Be quick as the offer is set to expire any day now.
