What is the Daily Scrum, and how often is it held?

The Daily Scrum is one of the five essential Scrum events. It is a 15-minute timeboxed meeting held every working day at the same time and place. This event is specifically designed for the Developers to plan their activities for the next 24 hours. During this meeting, they inspect their progress toward the Sprint Goal and adjust their plans accordingly.

The responsibility for running and making the Daily Scrum effective lies entirely with the Developers. They decide on the structure of the event, which can vary but typically involves answering three key questions about their previous day’s work, their plans for the current day, and any potential impediments. This structure helps maintain focus and efficiency within the 15-minute Timebox.
