Scrum’s artifacts are the Product Backlog, the Sprint Backlog, and the Increment. Each artifact represents work or Value and provides transparency and opportunities for inspection and adaptation.
The Product Backlog is an ordered list of everything that might be needed in the product, with the commitment being the Product Goal, which provides a long-term objective for the Scrum Team. The Sprint Backlog is the set of Product Backlog items selected for the Sprint, along with a plan for delivering them, and its commitment is the Sprint Goal, which provides focus for the team. The Increment is the sum of all the Product Backlog items completed during a Sprint, and its commitment is the Definition of Done, ensuring that all Increments meet a shared quality standard.
