Complexity in software development projects is characterised by their unpredictability and the involvement of numerous interdependent variables. This complexity makes it difficult to plan and execute these projects in a linear or sequential manner. In complex environments, the best approach is to embrace uncertainty and adapt to changing circumstances as they arise. Traditional “Waterfall” Project management approaches, which assume that requirements can be fully defined upfront, often fail in these settings.
